Keyhouse: a strange mansion in New England. A haunted mansion, the doors can transform those who dare cross them ... After the brutal murder of their father, Tyler, and Kinsey Bode discover their new home, expecting to find the shelter they need to heal their wounds. But a shadowy creature was waiting for them to open the scariest all doors ...

Following the general good reviews on the web, I got myself in vo course, the first three volumes of this comic book written by Joe Hill, who is none other than the son of King of Bangor, Stephen King himself. Great well I can because this comic is really excellent.

The story is very well balanced mix between fantasy and thriller. Tyle, Kinsey and Bode just moved with their mother and uncle in an old Victorian style house following the murder of their father. This house holds many secrets including a door system that does not take long to discover Bode, the youngest of three, which opened with the correct keys have some curious properties. In addition, there are a mysterious force trapped in a well for many years, and Sam, the murderer of the father of the hero, who returns home in search of a mysterious key ...

The scenario is very well written and full of good ideas such as door system that is full of promise. The characters are complex and very interesting. Hill and Joe tells his story using wisely flashbacks that are always in tune with the present and to better understand the psychology of the hero, torn by doubts and remorse at the death of their father. The graphics of Gabriel Rodriguez may at first seem a bit too childish and too cartoony. Do not be fooled by this, history can be tough when needed and some boards are bloody. And then it checks out well with the story, told from the perspective of three children, has an air of kinship with the universe by Neil Gaiman.

Vivement la suite, which is expected soon to me because I am the serial vo. Incidentally, the English level is not unique. For those who do not or can not read vo, this series is published in French by Milady Graphics. Only the first volume is available now.
